Dhon Dholak Dance, Manipur. Highly acclaimed show of drummers is the Dhon Dholak which is known for its agility and skill while performing the Dhon-Dhulok Cholom. Vigrous beating of drums and flying body movements in tandem with rhythmic talas is the character of this dance. It is closely associated with the famous Holi of Manipur.
The performance of North East Octave Group added to the majestic splendour of the Mela. Octave 2010 brought the rich cultural diversity and hertiage from eight North-Eastern states of India - Assam, Meghalaya, Tripuar, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. In association with Ministry of Culture, Government of India and North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Allahabad. This performance was the largest group performers at the Surjakund Crafts Mela 2010 held in February in Faridabad, Haryana, India.
