Suchit Nanda > Music and dance at QVM (Queen Victoria Market). At the northern, top end of the city (in Victoria Street, between Queen and Peel Sts) is Melbourne's famous Queen Victoria Market, a carry-over from the Victorian times. This is a working market with meat, fish, bakery and delicatessen sections as well as scores of fruit and vegetable vendor's stalls and general merchandise. There are more than 1000 stalls, most of them set up outdoors under tin roofs with iron gables. Music and dance performances are often held in Sundays.
Suchit Nanda > Night scene at Yarra River near Federation Square. Shot from Princess Bridge. Melbourne grew from the banks of the Yarra and even today the focus for the city is still very much on a one-kilometre section of the river. Within that one kilometre are some of the great sights and attractions of Melbourne. Seen here is the Southgate and Southbank Pomenade on the left with the Flinders Street Station on the right. Melbourne, Victoria (VIC), Australia.
