Ghantu Dance, Sikkim. The Ghantu dance is Sikkimese folk dance patronised by the Gurung community. This ancient folk dance form depicts the colourful lifestyle of the people of the land and is performed by young girls in traditional costumes & headgear and is full of fun and vigour. The performance of North East Octave Group added to the majestic splendour of the Mela. Octave 2010 brought the rich cultural diversity and hertiage from eight North-Eastern states of India - Assam, Meghalaya, Tripuar, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, and Sikkim. In association with Ministry of Culture, Government of India and North Central Zone Cultural Centre, Allahabad. This performance was the largest group performers at the Surjakund Crafts Mela 2010 held in February in Faridabad, Haryana, India.
